Sport Relief Fun

Year 2 worked really hard to complete all the activities in the fun ‘circuits’ session during Sport Relief week.  They enthusiastically (and energetically!) completed step-ups, sit-ups, get-ups, shuttle runs, basketball raises, speed jumps, gymnastics bunny hops (it was Easter after all!) and mountain climbs.  They also supported and encouraged each other to get their best score. Great work Year 2!

Year 1 have been learning to use a hockey stick to dribble a ball effectively.  They all demonstrated fantastic control and determination to keep the ball close to their stick whilst moving.

Birmingham Moseley Rugby

Our partnership with Birmingham Moseley Rugby Club continues to flourish as tag rugby continues to be a popular lunch time and after school club activity for our children.  Up to 50 Year 1-6 children access daily lunch time activities and 30 Year 3-6 children are signed up to the new after school club in the Summer Term.

EYFS Physical Development

The EYFS children used a long awaited visit to the MUGA (due to the recent weather!) to creatively explore using different equipment with control and coordination.  The children practised a range of running, jumping, throwing and striking skills even adapting and creating new activities within their groups.  Well done Reception children!

Tag Rugby Success!

Our tag rugby team just missed out on a place in the area final, being pipped 6-5 in a ‘golden’ try situation in the semi-final of a School Games competition at Shenley Academy.  The team reached the semi-final stage by remaining undefeated and finishing top in the group stage.  Well done to everyone for a fantastic team effort!  Many thanks also to our Birmingham Moseley rugby coach, Jonah, for preparing and supporting the team.
