In January 2017, we are organising a running programme for our parents and wider community led by Tahir from ‘Run Birmingham’. It is a 9-week programme called ‘Couch to 5K’ where we hope to be able to address levels of inactivity amongst our school community. Tahir will support us with basic running advice including routines for warming up, stretching and cooling down. Each participant will have their own copy of the programme which includes access to weekly podcasts to support you.
We are using the weeks leading up to Christmas as signing up and taster sessions. Come along and join us on Tuesday mornings from 9.30am and get fit in 2017.
Running is free and you can do it anywhere. It has a huge impact on your physical and mental health. The ‘Couch to 5K’ programme starts gently and builds up each week, finishing off with a 5K run.
