The Rowing Club for Year 6 has started and it is so much fun! The children have been learning and refining sound technique to maximise power and efficiency on the indoor rowing machines. They also enjoyed competing against each other over 500m.
Watch out for the new rowing after school club for all children in Year 6 after half term! Get involved and get inspired!
The girls football team came a fantastic 3rd place in the Harborne schools 4-a-side competition at the Futsal Arena this evening, narrowly being beaten in the semi-final by Harborne Primary. Fantastic effort girls – you were a credit to our school! Big thanks to Mrs Dainter, Mrs Wood, Mr Adkins and Mr Hill (Ruby’s dad) for supporting the girls and the event. Pictures to follow.
Our Year 4 footballers recently came a fantastic 2nd place in a local school competition. After a slow start, they began to improve their team play and build momentum, winning their last 3 games (one against the eventual winners, Chad Vale, 3-0). Stand out player – Kibrel – not to mention Zuhair’s exquisite last-gasp volley to win the last match against Our Lady of Fatima. Well done everyone!
Myself and staff have been really impressed with the efforts and skills of Reception children in their gymnastics lessons this half term. They have been learning the core gymnastics skills such as shapes, balances, jumps, rolls and travelling. During their last gymnastics lesson, they were given the opportunity to showcase their learning by transferring their work to different gymnastics apparatus. In fact, Mrs Rowlands took time out from her busy schedule to observe the children in action and took these pictures.
She commented that it was like watching gymnasts at a gymnastics club! Well done everyone!
